>>12255859It was more the match that catered to the twitter mark audience who had just appeared as a result of New Japan and indy wrestling blowing up due to WWE NXT teaching mega marks that other companies exist, resulting in the fattest, saddest marks going to extreme lengths to prove they watch "real wrestling", beginning an annoying era of WWE chants at every show and calling anyone who does a flip amazing.
Ospreay vs Ricochet in OTT was alright, the one on New Japan was just bad gymnastics and poses and both guys eventually learned that and became actually popular in doing so, instead of popular with a minority of coping autistic 40 year old men by spamming bad high spots. Unfortunately aew is run by people who operate the company as a deranged cope in defense of the shit that no one ever wanted to see and this match is just a nice example of how that mindset works once on twitter and is then forgotten - a truth that aew would greatly benefit from accepting.
