He was of his time because he got over. Nowadays (post-NXT) they would overdo it and make him wrestle 30 minutes every week, give him a Rumble win, 3 world title reigns and a netflix special but no character-building backstage segments and have people kick out of the buzzsaw kick by week 2. thank you for coming to my TED talk

It's funny that all he wanted to do was wrestle in Mexico. He joined IWA Japan dojo just because it had luchadores he could train under. Every time he had to work Japan, he was trying to find a way to get back to Mexico. He didn't give a fuck where in Mexico. He'd work the most cartel outlaw parking lot shit if he had to. As a kid he was my favourite, and I wondered why the fuck he never held the WWE title. So I was old enough to know wrestling was scripted but too ignorant to understand why Tajiri would never be world champion. Strange times
