No. Brandi was an issue between everyone, I don't think Cody was ever fully committed and was in on the pretense of it being the Elite's promotion and having control before Tony took it, and Tony was already bringing Punk in to be his new best friend.

Cody left because of Brandi, it really is that simple. In order to keep Cody, Tony would've had to let Brandi keep her office job and let her work matches if she wanted to

How a lot of people still don't understand that his goal was to always end back up in WWE is crazy. He was granted his release and wanted to show them he was more than a Stardust level performer. While he failed to "get-over" in really any company he worked for post-WWE. WWE's roster stagnated with no new faces climbing the ranks and he became a viable main-event type star for them.

AEW freakazoids turning on a guy that wanted the best for the company. The main title stipulation that kept Cody from the main event picture. Bad booking.
Moral of the story is Cody knows exactly when to leave a sinking ship. He's turned his career around twice now by leaving when he was unhappy.
