He was more of an occasional on-screen match maker (and sometimes a manager) at first, for example during the kino ROH vs CZW feud, but his full time job was still TNA at that point
He became the booker around 2010 I believe, right after he left TNA when Bischoff and Hogan came in

It was mostly the production value. I think the shows were solid. HDnet era had fun matches, like the fourway with Lynn, Aries, Black and Danielson.
