Upper mid card behind Austin, Taker, Rock, Mankind, Kane, Angle, and HHH. If he sticks around longer maybe he gets a run with the belt when those guys left/worked less and it started changing hands more often.

Then again he was older than all those guys and Michaels guys so he probably already peaked. I will say his loose cannon gimmick was pretty interesting at the time in both WCW, ECW, and WWF so he definitely had value.

Rose-colored glasses. People really, REALLY forget how bad his matches were getting near the end. Even if you want to play the "increased psychology" card to cope with it, the matches weren't good. If he took a year to year and a half off to actually get that ankle rehabbed he might've been able to get back to 80-90% of his WCW workrate, but he never did.

Midcard hardcore shitter with his ankle in the state it was in. If he got off TV and let it heal properly when it happened I'm sure he could have kept up better though, working a brawling style is more than fine but dude could barely do anything by the end.

I'd say he would probably be one of Austins first feuds after he gets the title. And besides Austin wanted to work with him.

The vignettes and promos of a proper Pillman and Austin feud would have been interesting for sure. Matches probably would suck. After that feud he would be a midcarder.
