It's only the beginning of the end. The next one will be a live service game with all the unlockables will be hidden behind MyFaction. We were naive to think 2k would not just get complacent again as soon as they rebounded from the disaster that was 2k20. Omega's No Mercy at home was the only chance at challenging the monopoly they have in the genre, but unfortunately it sucks and sold like shit. We're going to be stuck with the AKI and Smackdown games until we die.

I can even play PS2 wrestling games with mods made in the current year.
Just the other day on the KoC modding discord, some guy figured out how to pull animations from Here Comes the Pain which is the beginning of being able to make custom moves.

You can't do anything like this on a console, you filthy casualnigger.

They're pushing it hard because it's supposed to be their version of Madden Ultimate Team. Those fantasy team modes print money in actual sports games, but in a wrestling game, they just get fucking repetitive. It's just nonstop multi-man stipulation matches that are designed to be so aggravating, you pay money to try to unlock better cards.

This really doesn't even seem that impossible. From what I've seen you need to use like stupid energy cards in order to even use a wrestler in that mode. So like if you wanted to play as that action figure Cena a bunch you'd either run out of those or grind or pay actual money to get more of those. If people are doing it then it's only going to continue and they're likely to want to expand it
