The fact that he hasn't been on Dynamite in any significant way in weeks is almost inexcusable. The match is booked and the story is where it needs to be at for it going in, but you would think they'd at least have him on for a promo last night

Edge fumbled Edge.

The whole point of Exfed talent coming to AEW is to have them be different than their Fed counterparts. Edge came in cutting the same promos, entering to the same music, having the same matches. He's even got the same nickname - a nickname with WWEs wrong think correcting term for wrestlers in it. Edge thinks just being in AEW is going to give him that workrate cred but the other guys like him who turned up as their Exfed character fail hard. I have no idea who wanted Edge in AEW besides Tony, FTR and Christian. Not since the signing of Keithly have I been as flabbergasted by a signing. Maybe the signing of Kevin Dunn's protégé and the Exfed guys working on producing the matches had more of an impact on negatively affecting the show but Edge has had no net positive or negative - he's just kind of there. I really dislike that he's aligning himself with Sting on his last run and it looks like Sting is going to have some kind of match with Edge in his last angle.

with complete earnestness i will make the bold claim that beyond the initial pop, more people would care about sheamus being in aew than they would about edge, at least then you might see a guy do something different

True to an extent but even his very first appearance didn't pop a number. The presentation was fundamentally wrong in that they put a guy just on WWE tv and stale and threw him in with his old WWE partner right away and there was zero intrigue or reason to be excited. We have to see Edge come out and promo a million times and have matches nobody asked for, like Luchasaurus, to see the blowoff match where nobody cares who wins or loses because there are no stakes and neither character will change and even if they did turn it would mean teaming with the guy we've already seen them team with for like 20 years. Who thought that was a good way to present the guy they just spent millions on? There's no good outcome here.

Agreed, but you can't stream Dynamite live through youtube and even if we got to have that level of accessibility, nobody is going to take the tube ratings seriously.
They're not as valuable as TV viewers, since the retarded old businessmen in charge of TV and the advertising world will pay a shitload of money for TV shows.
There needs to be a way wrestling promoters can enhance the commercial value of youtube streams.
Normies aren't gonna get FiteTV and AEW is too shit for people to say "yes I'll pay 5 bucks a month for that".
