>>12318348>Okay so explain why Fox didn't attempt to match NBCUs offer.Easy. Fox has been interested in expanding its live sporting content. WWE sells its content as live sporting content because Vince, smart faggot that he is, realized decades ago, that using that term is attractive tv execs. I don't think any one of us imagines WWE or AEW as a fucking sporting event. it's a scripted drama at best. But Vince knows marketing matters, not logic. This is why Vince starting using the term "Sports Entertainment" the term sparks and faggots laugh at.He did it so he could sell his product to the networks in that light. And it worked. And Tony is piggybacking off of it. But Fox has multiple sports on its networks for years including deals with MLB and, more importantly, the NFL. It knows what a real live sporting event is and the numbers it does. The NFL is responsible EVERY YEAR for at least 98 of the 100 top most viewed programs for the year. Every fucking year. That means the average game between the Panthers and Brows will do more than most anything any one else puts on TV no matter what the fuck it is. You could literally broadcast tits for 30 minutes and probably lose to it. Fox wants to spend their budget on more local and college sports packages and they want the NBA, because Fox wants to roll out a streaming sports package that offers the NFL, MLB, and the NBA something no one else has. That NBA package? It is the one currently on TNT. The NBA has a sweet spot for TNT because of their long history, but they know the money that is out there for them. Do you see where this is going? Fox drops WWE to have money to spend on the NBA and if not college sports. WB doesn't resign AEW right away because they know they are going to be tested on the NBA.
