My son wants the AEW fight forever game for his birthday next month and to be honest, it doesn't look that well. Should I just buy him WWE2K23 and hope it doesn't really matter?

Be a good father and get 2k. I have both, it's not a contest Fight Forever is the worst game released this year.
Once you get 2K just go into the community creations and download all the AEW stuff people have created which look vastly superior and are more accurate to wrestlers move sets in real life than anything in the actual AEW game.

Ignoring the trolling aside, part the reason why my son wants the game is the mini games that come with it and the battle royale with online. It just seems out of character for a game. I'm 26 now and while this would sound fun to me like 10 years ago, I don't think my 14 year old son would really like it that much.
