The one thing that killed WCW was the massive amount of contracts that they handed out, like off-the-wall bonkers contracts. AEW is no where near as financially insolvent as WCW was, although it is insolvent. They can probably keep importing "stars" WWE and NJPW has moved on from, because the contracts they're giving out aren't anywhere near as ridiculous as the ones WCW was giving out. Also even WCW could have turned it around if it wasn't for AOL/Time Warner killing them. The unfortunate truth here is that for as bad as AEW is (and it is really, really fucking awful), as long as Shad wants to keep bankrolling his son's wrestling fetish, this shit is still going to exist. Just like WCW would still have existed if Ted Turner hadn't sold Turner Broadcasting to Time Warner. This annoying tranny cringe will continue to exist as long as Shad is alive.
