If you look back far enough on Ram's twitter timeline you can see her sperging out over one of the Sanrio character popularity poll for weeks on end and find Rina Yamashita jumping into her reply chains arguing with Ram over which Hello Kitty! character was best. There shared affinity for Sanrio was what lead to them getting to know one another and becoming friends.
Maya and Maika became friends with Ram while Ram was doing irregular freelance work in Ice Ribbon in like 2019 since they are all heavy drinkers and they are all marks for Showa era anime.
