It didn't used to be like that. Just a few years ago NJPW could give you a variety of match styles all at the top of the card. You had amazing shit like Ibushi/Nakamura exist with borderline Inokist strong style matches, fast-paced jr matches and the main events.
Now the main event and Jr style matches have gotten spliced and it dominates the card top-to-bottom. It's really a shame there's a generation of wrestling fans that got fooled by the fake golden age of wrestling and will never know actual quality.
