Most of the rest of the state is beautiful beyond compare, but Portland is filled with so many dysgenic insane people that they control the rest of the state politically and use that to make everywhere else worse. You can't even move to a nice small town because the state uses your tax dollars to build housing for the homeless in your town so enjoy rapes, robberies, and assaults going through the roof and the police being unable to do shit since small towns don't have the budget for it.
30 years ago Oregon was debatably the best place in the US to live with Portland being low crime, high wages, and clean. Now everyone is strung out on drugs and trying not to catch the crazy from the tens of thousands of legit mental patients that California sends north with a one way bus ticket.
There is no good vibes here, not in a very long time.
