Real answer is it because it freezes all singles feuds for a month just to put some guys in arbitrary teams with no stakes. There's a good reason they dropped the survivor series concept in 99, 98, and 2000. Just gets in the way.of storylines. They need a new gimmick for the PPV. War games is better but still not great. They should bring back the triple cage or something. Forget the team shit

If EC wasn't its own PPV they could bring that back for SS as well. Lean into the survivor namesake every year. Do a tournament like deadly games, do a traditional 5 v 5 tag match, do an EC, WarGames and more.

Yes, which is why this should be an absolute car crash kino blow off to the feud. Hell, adding Drew and Randy already plants seeds for shit they can do after of this. We'll probably see Randy attack Jey, costing them the match. That gives us Jey v Randy, Seth v Cody for bringing Randy in, and then Cody v whoever depending on who he sides with.
Even Judgment Day can move forward, either kicking Priest out or having him feud with Drew over the MITB case.
