it makes sense because it means tickets trend hotter and colder depending on time of year, the build to survivor series and rumble always historically does lower than the rest of the year and it heats up again after the rumble. its always been this way

Yes, modern wrestling can't run the same markets over and over without burnout because ticket prices are so high that people will opt out of a house show or tv because they expect a PPV to come soon and would rather spend money on that. Cena also just left and Roman is back off tv. Cody is also in side programs before his big feuds kick off.

Consider the following:

Q4 (and in all likelihood Q3) of 2022 are significantly higher in the immediate post Vince era. The goodwill attendance bump is over after a year.
By all accounts though, they're still drawing more money on all of these events than they were last year.

You're not entirely wrong, but wrestling's overall product is boring and stagnant. WWE saw a pretty significant dead cat bounce last year, but it's running out of steam. Think about what you could do if you budgeted 40 bucks for entertainment. One wrestling show as opposed to the numerous video games you could buy with the same amount of money. You could go to a movie theater a few times, too.

They had a perfect setup for the Bloodline story at WM. Roman loses the title as his family falls apart. Then Roman deals with his loss poorly and the Bloodline ends with Roman putting Jey over. Then Roman gets to fuck off for months like he wants to. Instead H tried to milk the Bloodline and came up with nonsensical angles to extend the story.
