>>12389669There have always been undercard matches featuring D-list talent. First PPV I watched was Summerslam 2000 which opened with Too Cool vs Right To Censor. Good match. Card also featured X-Pac vs Road Dogg somewhere in the middle. Tazz vs Jerry Lawler was on there as well and this is when Tazz was already a jobber.
My point is it isn't a new thing, if anything it's a return to form with putting more focus on the mid and lower card so that everyone gets over not just those in the main event. We had that for the last 10-15 years where nobody mattered but Cena and Reigns. Now people like LWO and Gunther are over up and down the card. It's nice.
