The dude covers wrestling for a living, the other day on his podcast Chico lost his notes and asked Dave to recap a short match. Dave literally went silent and didn't know what to say because he doesn't watch or understand anything and just notes down the highspota with whatever name the commentary shouts to him.
The stars are mostly determined based on who is in the match, then the last 1.5+ stars are for how many moves they do.
He has literally said he hasn't watched a match and then 30 seconds later announced that it's 5 stars.
