He only signed on once it was already a success, and got an office role because Tony's a Punk mark (we all know this). Getting Punk back to wrestling was initially exciting. He had matches that ranged in quality from good to very good and got out-promo'd by Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley. Then he injured himself doing something stupid, held a grudge about something stupid, came back, injured himself again doing something he didn't know how to do, blew up on camera, started a fight about it that got everyone involved suspended, came back to his own show because Tony's a Punk mark, immediately developed a stack of new grudges, got vagueposted on a pre-show, and lost his shit so badly he had to be fired by Tony - who, again, is a Punk mark.
Extremely embarrassing all around for Cuck Man Phil, who after nine years of shitting on WWE, has a long conversation with HHH and ends up right back where he started, at the company that FIRED HIM ON HIS WEDDING DAY.
