Culminating in Orange Cassidy vs Avery Good in a first blood match.
Also, not everyone wants Edge/Christian back together; especially Christian fans. Is Christian being booked to his best ability? No, but he's still knocking it out of the park in his new role as the evil manager from hell who occasionally wrestles. Putting him back with Edge would be a huge downgrade.
Furthermore, no one gives a fuck about the Hardy Boys these days. Both are fat, ugly looking guys in their 40s at this point and long past their peak attractiveness-wise and their characters are now mentally ill Chris Angel rip-off (Matt) and drug addicted fuck up (Jeff).
As for Edge, just put him in the ring with Jericho as far as Edge being Jericho's tard wrangler. Edge steals Daniel Garcia from Jericho, they brutalize him and Jericho spends a year putting Garcia over, while Edge does his best to drill some sort of personality into Garcia to make people care about him. Meanwhile Jericho can tag team with Wheeler Yuta and do the same: try and get Wheeler to openly admit to being a vain pretty boy and make that his character instead of being just another "I was once a top young up and coming wrestler but never lived up to my potential" guy.
