in what way? Phil is irrelevant. Has been even before he left AEW. It'll take something miraculous like losing his tv deal for Tony to take the KWABOTY award from Vince (who lost his entire company and got outjewed). That's the only way I can see Tony snatching the award in the nick of time.

I don't get this though. Vince didn't "lose" his company. That happened last year. Then he got it back and sold it out of sheer spite. He wasn't tricked out of his shares, he sold them. Regardless of any pinky promises to leave him in control, he willingly put himself in that position.

And the funny thing is - he gained nothing from it since it was a basic merger. His wealth is what it was beforehand, not that it would have mattered if he got more wealthy anyway.

The board of directors voted against him. He had to threaten and blackmail his way back in.

Again, he chose to do this. He chose to risk it because it was worth it to him to punish his daughter and son in law. I don't know how many sheckles he received from the ordeal, but how much does a man at his age really need especially when he does it to spite his family and doesn't really want to leave any of it to them.
