They've kind of missed their opportunity. They're not in the early years where you can overlook a lot of stuff. They might still be able to make good storylines and tame all the nonsense, but it's clear at this point that they'll always be the secondary promotion - at best.

As someone who barely watches AEW, can someone tell me what the fuck happened to the Don Callis, Takeshita, Kenny Omega storyline?

So Don turns on Kenny, then Don wants Jericho in his group, Jericho teams with Kenny to take on the Callis family, Takeshita beats Kenny twice, they do one multiman match where the babyfaces win, and now Kenny and Jericho are feuding with Bucks?

Why the fuck are the Bucks mad at Kenny teaming with Jericho?

If Tony handed the book to someone else, maybe.

If Tony could just focus on AEW and only AEW, maybe.

They just don't really have stars anymore. Punk and Cody were stars, former champs. They lost them. Now they just have Dean and Daniel and Kenny and a few really old dudes but other than that they're just screwed. Wrestling is about star power. If you dont have stars you dont get high ratings or normies at your shows.

You'd have to have a big name jump over and then Tony would have to do what he's failed to do every time, he has to actually market them to a group beyond the hardcore fans. He has to have them doing media, commercials during every main stream event, billboards to promote tours months in advance. He needs that name and then he needs to put every big name he has on those same events. Then Dynamite has to be nothing but big stats with Collision/Rampage as his Velocity/Heat/NXT.

Yes, we've seen ice cold promotion become hot many times in the past. The key is to find THE guy and push him to the fucking moon. Looking at the current roster their best bet is Swerve. That guy should be taking the title off MJF instead of doing some shitty, meaningless tournament.
