>>12427661Their biggest problem, which I feel like very few are talking about, is that they are completely outdated. They are essentially trying to sell 2000s US independent wrestling mixed with 2010s New Japan. Those were very cool alternatives to WWE during their respective peaks, and their popularity is what allowed AEW to come into existence in the first place. But Tony and the other retards at All Elite didn't realize that by the time their company was starting up, the trends were already shifting towards exactly what WWE is providing right now. Large wrestlers, epic presentation and straightforward storylines are the new cool. It was something WWE was already gearing towards, so they lucked out and became the company that's ahead of the curve for the first time since probably the 80s. Meanwhile, AEW missed their golden opportunity to ditch the niche indy product and pivot to a more mainstream, TV friendly approach. They had the proper roster for it, the proper funding and the proper TV deals. They were also beating WWE head on during the Wednesday Night Wars precisely because compared to NXT at the time they provided a more basic wrestling show. It's a fucking shame, because they actually had a shot to do something great.
