Setting up companies that don't do or trade anything, under a family member's name, is a good way to cut your tax bill by half or entirely. Hell if the company is showing at a loss you can claim all sorts of rebate tricks or defer taxes to different years, Trump did this but there's tons of other ways to scam it.
