Why didn't they have Christian pin Chris Jericho in this match? Cena wouldn't have lost and it would give Christian so much needed legitimacy for a feud. He didn't even have to hold it for long, just for a month then drop it to Cena.

Cena was clowned by half the audience and chased away much of the wrestling audience Austin had gained. And the pro wrestling industry has NEVER recovered.

I agree. This really started the resentment of Cena especially when Christian was out performing him in merch and crowd response. Christian was white hot and they dumped him to the B show to not kill Cena’s momentum.

I think Raw needed another top heel post Haitch and Cena needed another chase to the title that fans got behind.

Today, pro wrestling is niche and mostly enjoyed ironically, aside from the few remaining smarks that have been suckered by Dave into thinking flippy spots, thigh slaps, and finisher spam are what really matters.

Christian was just another victim of that supercena autism, he also had to feed him Angle, Benoit, Edge, Umaga, basically anyone the fans thought was remotely cool. He suceeded in getting Cena over with kids but ran off all the ruthless agression era adults, a competent booker would have won over both.
