Here's the truth:
CM punk is a sociopath.
Bryan Danielson has no self-respect.
CM punk loves the storytelling aspect of professional wrestling.
Bryan Danielson loves the wrestling side of professional wrestling.
CM punk doesn't know how to play politics and gets butt hurt that the real world isn't fair.
Bryan Danielson doesn't have to play politics because his natural charisma makes him easily liked by upper management.
At the end of the day, the two are polar opposites but still respect each other and are probably friends in there personal life. Punk understood that Bryan would recommend that Tony fire Phil. But Phil has no hard feelings about Bryan personally.

The reason AEW did this leak is to make it seem like Punk's behaviour was so egregious that even Bryan objected.

The only ones who'll reference Punk in AEW will be his WWE opponents. This creates heat for CM Punk, from the fans of an outside promotion. Punk is literally retaining all heat and star power from AEW while running against them in another promotion in real time. It's absolutely amazing. To be fair, AEW fans, you knew WWE didn't care what you thought, or how you felt but they'll appreciate the rub anyway. Thanks for keeping their stars hot.

This is untrue, WWE offered him this, in effect. He wanted to go to AEW for the blood and headbutting. And probably because he thought a new big company was exciting to get involved with. Dbry is a guy who thinks that his time working in front of 20 people in UK holiday camps is how he learned to sell his character in the ring (unironically probably not untrue, working for 20 people is harder than 2000 according to everyone that has done it)

I'm 1, going to take your job in AEW away but, 2, allow you to seek outside employment by removing your contract and your non-compete clause (besides the gimmick 3 month-er which seems to be a standard across the board). This seems to have been a very level headed judgement the more one looks at it. Both camps lost, both camps won and rightly so as the blame could be spread around here.
