The owner, the fans, the talent in that order. AEW fans have not once booed their own product. They simply don't know how. This gives the owner a false sense of accomplishment, and grows ambivalence in the locker room by less savvy talent. The smarter ones use it to bilk the billionaire's son for even more money. In WWE fans will literally push back on an unacceptable angle and this narrative quite simply has never existed in AEW. So as depicted in OP's photo, in AEW you're forced to drink the kool-aid and go along with the master plan, because Lord knows Tony Khan does not make mistakes.

A couple things. Tony Khan has publicly looked feckless and very much like a pussy since the ‘feared for my life’ hostage statement. AEW has managed only really to stay stable (read:stagnant) in recent history and that doesn’t seem to be changing. The shows get worse every month, the video game was an unequivocal flop and houses are looking more and more dire.

To be fair only the most loyal smarks are buying tickets to the shows. Most casual AEW fans have checked out by now. The type of people who chant "meat" when two wrestlers who actually look like grown men are in the ring are the problem.

It was never a great promotion but I enjoyed it until Brawl Out and the MJF title run. It became clear that it was only going to get worse from there. If they really are moving to a more NJPW-like direction beyond just doing their own round robin I might check out the weekly shows again but the revamped WWE-lite production is still offputting and it's turning into a retirement home. If I wanted to watch Edge do the same shit he's been doing since unretiring, I'd have just watched WWE.
