He's one of the worst athletes to ever be a great wrestler. You'd think that wouldn't be an issue as he got older as he can rely on other skills. Compared to say mediocre wrestlers who are great athletes that fall off a cliff once they're past their peak. However his second AEW run was rough. Had one, maybe two good matches despite wrestling every week. We'll see if Seth can carry him.

Punk is infuriating because he is kind of lame for how much attention he draws. Even his breaking the 4th wall schtick is great on paper, but it's lame in execution. Punks got great ring gear with the wrapped wrists, but hes a terrible fighter and a subpar performer. His music is catchy, but it's not like hearing stone cold's glass shattering and knowing hes about to storm down the walk way and kick some ass or talk some shit. You hear Punks music and know hes just going to lazilly break the 4th wall while commenting on a situation and not do anything physically impressive anywhere close to the ring.

Every big Punk match has a spot where the larger guy carries punk in his hands like some sort of ballerina. Every single one. It's in fucking sane.

I dont think he even has the make of a capable wrestler on pure visuals. He is marketable, but hes got no spring to him and he absolutely sucks at selling. His tribute match where he copied Brett was dogshit, he doesnt work as 'the smaller guy', he just wants to wrestler as 'the guy' and it doesnt work because he is one hundred percent of the time the smaller guy.

Guys like Nash and Hogan may not be ninjas in the ring, but when they kick or stomp someone, you can feel the impact. In a visual medium, that matters.

He has such an ill-fitting set of moves. One of the worst. He does several "high-flyer" type moves like spring-board clotheslines and that awful elbow drop, he does these "MMA" type strikes and we know how well trained he is in that, and lastly is his finish that needs him strong enough to lift his opponent onto his back and bounce them up and down onto his knee which means anyone bigger than Rey and he has difficulties.

The best thing he could do now that he's barely able to move and injury prone would be to find a more suitable style. He has to change. His shit is too sloppy now.
