if they get WBD, who is in pretty dire straits finance wise right now, they're probably going to get exclusivity and get rid of AEW from WBD programming. If that happens there's no way they get a 1.5x on the current USA deal, they'd literally be taking less money just to snuff out AEW. Cutting off their nose to spite their (and their shareholders) faces, as it were.

wbd paying big is with the caveat of keeping aew because it makes them more money

They took a CW deal without an exclusivity clause. I agree and don't think it will happen but I do think their biggest bid with be WBD with AEW still on the docket unless Amazon wants to play big.
