Part of what makes the G1 so special, as opposed to the majority of tournaments NJPW has (We're in the middle of a worthless one right now) is the level of importance given to the G1. And part of it is the prestige that is built with time, sure, but it also needs to be presented as a big deal and this shit has been haphazardous and is clearly just for midcarder level shit in a company that is already filled to the brim with it
Nothing can be done about the American crowds, though. No single company can fix those. The cultural impact of shit like ECW, Steve Austin's "What" and Brits memeing it up with their soccer chants have done too much damage.
