Dave Meltzer isn't the only person who disliked the finish.
This is before the Fiend lost to Goldberg and became just another big guy. And yet hear is scrawny-ass jannetty Seth Rollins practically beating him in a match WAY WAY WAY too early in the Fiend's run. The only reason Seth doesn't win this match is because he gets disqualified for no reason.
Seth basically beat The Fiend, and why the fuck is Seth Rollins beating The Fiend? Why throw all the mystique away? Maybe Dolph Ziggler can beat The Fiend too. I guess he's just a normal guy after all...
That's why the match sucked. They didn't protect anybody and they buried their ref.

My example of good wrestling is Swerve in Our Glory vs the Acclaimed at All Out 2022. It kept the crowd on their feet and making noise throughout. A classic example of this is Hogan vs Rock from WM18.

This match not only had an inadequate wrestler in it but his character didn't feel pain so it made his wrestling even less captivating. The issue was they booked themselves into a corner and after a slow, plodding match, went with a cheap DQ finish in a match type that doesn't have DQs. So even though bad sex will still let you cum, this was bad sex where the bitch spits in your eye and farts on your dick before kicking you out of bed with blue balls.

I don't know about others but I thought the match was bad because 1) Fiend no sold 20 finishers in a row making this shit look retardedly fake 2) Seth hitting Fiend with the hammer was supposed to be some crazy moment except there was a bunch of random weapons stacked on top of him to protect him so it didn't even look good 3) the match is HIAC and supposed to be hardcore yet the referee has an autistic meltdown over people using weapons and stops the match. Which is later rendered pointless since Fiend gets right back up after the match and no sold it anyway 4) They gave the Fiend the belt a month later so the entire thing was pointless.
