Hogan slamming Andre and Lex slamming Yokozuna were presented as massive deals on big stages that made them stars, even later when Cesaro slammed Big Show over the top rope it elevated him.
Steiner suplexes Giant like it's fucking easy and it's a throwaway TV filler main event that he doesn't even win, comes out of nowhere in the match and the commentary are impressed for all of 3 seconds. You present that right on a PPV it makes Scott instantly, just like how Lex continually being tested to Rack bigger and bigger guys made him. Instead it was just a cool moment for five seconds of TV and forgotten.
AEW does the same shit now. Cool looking stuff with no art to the presentation or build that lasts for a Twitter gif and is forgotten about two days later.
