>>12572223The answer is far simpler imo, it's just that Kenny's contract would have ended if The Elite didn't vote to stay and the rest of them would still be in till January. TK made his plans months ago and Jericho is getting his Golden Jets because Kenny isn't really featured in plans going through December and this keeps him in tags where he can save himself. Kenny also said after the best of 7 series and Wrestle Kingdom that he can go, but maybe don't go like 8 weeks in a row any more.
Think about it, what have the elite done recently? Hangman put Swerve over twice, Kenny put over Takeshita and then MJF at what would have been the very end of his contract, Bucks put over FTR. If they don't sign a new deal that's probably their final big matches in AEW. After that Kenny got into the Jerichozone (which is a bucket list item for Jericho) and feuded with The Bucks, it's a holding pattern.
