Yes, AEW has had many chances to tell many amazing stories and they've completely fucked up every single one of them every single time because Tony can't book his way out of a paper bag and he doesn't understand how storytelling even works. It's been 4 years and Cody vs Dustin is still the only great storyline to come out of AEW.

Bro it isn't a cal-arts thing it is a wrestling thing. Wrestling has always had these big dramatic shots that make thing seem more important than they actually are. I remember being a wee lad in the 90s and my cool uncle sending me his old wrestling newsletters. I was a massive mark for ECW, and specifically The Sandman, despite never having seen a single ECW show because of how bad ass the pics were. When I got the internet in the early 00s and actually had a chance to see Sandman matches I was disappointed over how bad they actually were.
