>>12618410I think it is pretty clear what Tony wants and what the EVPs want are totally divergent. AEW during it's initial phase had a style that was unique and extremely different from WWE style programming. I watched All In and almost every episode that followed without knowing 90% of the roster. I had never seen Kenny Omega, only seen the Young Bucks in TNA, vaguely knew Mox from his WWE run that I didn't see. Jericho was basically the only name I knew.
Even if you don't think it was better than WWE it was at least very different. You could really say "wow this is not something I would see on Raw" even if some of the segments were not the best. I found it refreshing and it seemed hopeful.
But now look at the place and it's almost TNA levels of awful with every WWE castoff getting hotshotted into TV time. I think Tony Khan has no idea what he is doing for a shoot and is basically throwing around million dollar contracts on a whim. He has a show that stomped NXT in the ratings and filled it up with NXT rejects. He has a roster of almost unknowns that got themselves over with the core audience of AEW and threw them in the freezer. It's baffling that Tony was on the brink of actually breaking through into successful promotion and immediately stopped doing the things that worked.
