Punk is in the WWE because the fans want him to wrestle and he can get paid to do it.
The WWE didn't want Punk there, but it's extremely good business to have him there. Not just good business in the tickets and PPV performance, they need Raw to find a TV deal and Punk may get them that.
It's good enough business to set everyone's heads straight.
Other companies have too much ego.
