>>12631689>>12631701>>12631727>>12631782You're being purposefully disingenuous here and lacking nuance. Nobody is complaining that Khan is giving toys to charity. The complaint is that they built up the Continental Classic as the G1 USA, something for serious wrestling fans, and now it has a pretty stupid name that makes it sound less cool.
If Tony would have done this without rebranding the "serious" wrestling tournament then people wouldn't be bothered. Also, billionaires giving away their loose change to charity for promotional purposes has always had its cynics. Look at the reaction to Stephanie McMahons live tweeting of a conference where she was quoting the speaker about philanthropy and marketing. That has lived on for a decade almost because for many people it crystallised the self serving nature of these charitable events.
Personally, I'm on the "whatever" side. If more kids get Xmas presents then I don't care how Khan promotes his show with it, but I do think naming the tournament was a branding misstep.
It's possible to have an opinion that isn't totally retarded console warring sometimes, if you guys try.
