I was there and the parallels are endless, you have AEW's biggest stars jumping and becoming stars in WWE, even the "fuck 'em, everything is fine" reaction internally, when we all know it is isn't. The key difference is ECW deserved to live, at least from a fan perspective, it was as popular as it'd ever been but mismanaged to hell and straight outta money. AEW has endless money but is both mismanaged and rapidly dwindling in popularity, Tony speedrunning the destruction arc of his favourite company is oddly poetic.
