If the rumors are true and Warner Discovery really owns 30% of AEW, then is it possible a hypothetical NDA for Punk to not talk about his Jack Perry incident "to anyone outside of AEW leadership"....would mean even as a WWE employee, he's free to give the full story to WBD execs while/when/if they're deciding to bring on WWE and boot AEW from their airwaves?
It would certainly explain rumors of CM Punk meeting directly with WBD stakeholders. If Khan/Triple H related to WBD what Punk (unofficially) told them....WBD says "idk guys, we need to hear it from Phil himself"...voila.
Certainly would tie up a few loose ends. If Punk was determined to fuck over AEW, and got his lawyer to include a clause in his NDA allowing him to share the full story details with ANYONE who owns part of AEW.....then if nothing else, WWE doing their "due diligence" - subsequently leading to CM Punk spilling the beans to WBD execs - could undermine Tony's leadership/credibility save WBD a few bucks on renewing AEW down the road.
Inb4 headcannon, hogtits, etc, we get it.
