High School was 9th-12th here, I started 9th grade in 1998, ended 12th grade a couple of months after WrestleMania 18. I was lucky to have been a kid during the Golden Era and a teen during the Attitude Era.
The first couple of years you’d see a lot of wrestling shirts walking down the hall, it was insane, Goldberg, nWo, DX, ect. I remember trading my WCW Raven t-shirt to a kid for his copy of Mission Impossible on the N64, a decision to this day I still regret.
You could just strike up a conversation with ALMOST anymore about the previous nights Raw or Nitro, which is insane to think about now.
I was an enhancement talent guy in 9th grade and didn’t get a push until 10th grade, so I was on the receiving end of a shoot stunner from a guy in woodshop class freshman year.
Flipping back from Raw to Nitro, and then from SmackDown to Thunder, when both shows were 10/10 was amazing.
Even the video games back then were 100 times better. WCW/nWo Revenge, WWF No Mercy, the PS1 SmackDown games.
My based Dad without me even asking, brought me home a copy of Sable in PlayBoy and then later the issue with Chyna in it. There wasn’t easy access to porn back then, so I appreciated the fap material.
1998 will forever be my favorite year in pro wrestling, and it really did seem to shit the bed around the change from WWF to WWE, the Ruthless Aggression Era was OKAY, but always felt like Attitude Era Light to me.
