Tony never had a fucking clue but AEW was reliant entirely on a few factors:
>Buzz about Omega in NJPW>Excitement factor of a rich rival to WWE back on Turner>Buzz from All Out coupled with dissatisfaction with WWE>Big "gets" of Moxley and PunkWhen it became clear Omega was sawdusted they lost their original draw, the "rival arena show" novelty wore off in six months, All Out lost its novelty when it was no longer a one-off, WWE picked up in quality, Moxley kwabd himself with deathmatch shitter antics and Punk got jaded again. It was always hype to cover for an entitled roster of mostly being indy midgets or WWE castoffs not good enough to make it big.
Bischoff made WCW, without him (even if nwo was a rip-off of muh uwfi smark shit) WCW never gets big. He didn't deal with politics from either the boys or TBS brass or plan for the future and that shortsightedness cost him but you could have put a master politician in charge and it'd have collapsed under locker room ego and AOL/Time Warner's desire to pull wrestling from the lineup.
Dixie took a hot alternative product and through a series of boneheaded money mark decisions swiftly turned it into a mix of dying days WCW and bad WWE larp, she 100% killed TNA.
