I don't understand why the NBA is supposed to be "competition"
Literally nobody watches the fucking NBA. Zoomers like looking at box scores and highlights and roasting players as a cultural thing and people will watch the playoffs if Lebron is in them, but the NBA is very much an increasingly niche product that, much like pro wrestling, has diminished star power and has driven away millions of casual fans by pushing performance analytics over entertainment value.
