The muta gimmick from Japan on a white American that was a substitute teacher in my town might not have been the beat choice either. A Japanese guy can play mysterious Japanese mist spraying guy, but out of place with an American.
He could still have done those other things, but the gimmick would have needed tweaking. A cowboy to their samurai kind of deal.
