Meanwhile, the impact energy of the 20 dudes in a Royal Rumble is more spread out and not subject to acceleration. Just running or jumping you are maybe talking 30-50 joules a piece at impact by wrestlers not in freefall and with partially supported weight (by their own muscles). Which puts 20 guys around 1000 joules hitting at different impact points with more distributed impact energy, or about 12% of the energy of the Big Show scenario. It's a work, clearly, and the ring still shouldn't collapse, but it's not an entirely implausible scenario from a physics standpoint.
