Drawfag retardation aside, Akiyama's run up to and after winning the first GHC Heavyweight belt was really fucking kino.

That match against cursed orange tights with purple flames Kobashi was probably the match of Akiyama's career.
Always loved his moveset, the high knee and the exploders. The wrist-clutch exploder was a great finisher.

No. And definitely not the Akiyama push.

NOAH was successful through and for years after Akiyama's initial run as the ace, though. Red hot, more successful than they had ever been as AJPW. They were running the Tokyo Dome and drawing well.
If you want to examine the downfall of NOAH, there's definitely a lot more to it than Akiyama. It's really the Marufuji/KENTA generation that was fumbled, imo.
But again, drawfag shit is like 99% irrelevant to me, especially considering I'm watching these matches like 10 years after they actually happened, through the vacuum of hindsight.
