>RAW was just a clip show but apparently several people backstage had assumed it would still beat Dynamite. It almost did, but there were some heated emails being sent back and forth on Thursday night discussing the “failure” to capitalize on CM Punk and increase viewership.
>HHH is perhaps CM Punk’s biggest supporter backstage and suggested a series of vignettes showing Punk training for his upcoming match, placing these during the 8, 9, and 10 pm hours in order to keep fans hooked. A few others suggested an extended sit down interview with Punk be filmed and shown in pieces during RAW to keep fans watching.
>Although RAW was still a massive success all things considered, it’s doubtful WWE will do another clip show any time soon. We’re told that Punk was contacted by a “very high level executive” and told to be on standby to appear next week. Although it’s not a clip show there is major concern that there’s “minimal star power” to draw in fans, with only Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins being seen as “A level talent”.
