Why do companies still lie about attendance numbers when they do that announcement thing in the middle of big shows? Literally everyone knows it's bullshit. And most of the time the actual number isn't even that much less impressive than the number they announce where they'll only add on like 7,000 in attendance so there's not much point in lying.
