>>12783148Non shitpost and somewhat obscure one. At the Rumble 1993, Jannetty went against HBK. There was a spot everybody used to do, where you'd hike the guy up onto your shoulder (sort of like the starting position for a shoulder breaker) then you'd ram them into the ring post outside.
The idea being that you ran towards it and your momentum/throw means their shoulder would hit the post. This was before the days of weapons used regularly so they'd sell the ring post pretty heavily.
Anyway, HBK put Jannetty in the air and rammed his shoulder into the ring post. Jannetty didn't just sell his shoulder but he knelt in front of the camera and did this weird thing where he sort of hunched his shoulder to try and show a "lump" like it was dislocated while writhing in pain.
The only problem, is that Jannetty completely sold the wrong shoulder. His left shoulder went into the post and he was overselling his right shoulder which hadn't been touched in the entire match. HBK, who was inside the ring while Marty sold, noticed this and ran out and performed the move again on the opposite shoulder possibly giving Marty an excuse to sell for the rest of the match, but perhaps giving the editors something to work with on future video packages.
This was such an incredibly blatant fuck up that despite having a good match and impressing lots of people backstage with its quality, Vince immediately fired Marty and accused him of being drunk or stoned.
