He never learned to grow his heel act or expand his material, slowly exposing himself as repetitive and derivative when faced with being on TV minimum once a week
He exposed himself, and retroactively his heel gimmick, as having no self awareness when he turned face trying to be a Just Like Me, So Relatable, wish fulfilment self insert for the Tumblr losers in the audience (rather than the golden rule of baby-face stars- be an aspirational "guy the audience want to be" cool avatar)
He exposed himself as having zero range when his idea of a empathic relatable face turned out to be a weak whiny obnoxious dork fixated on childhood insecurities and being ironic.

He's salvageable but he needs to turn back heel, never be allowed to write his own face material, and be told to grow his act beyond cheap heat and rehashes of other coward heel champs

Irrelevant. AEW want to grow their brand. The world champ is the face of the brand who has the main responsibility to grow the brand. Under and mid card champs can play to the hardcores and get away with it. The main babyface has to have the qualities I described to hang as a top babyface, even Hangman Page as reddit phony leftist as he is had more aspirational cool factor (but still almost none). MJF did nothing to position himself as a credible face of the company.
