Roman is dropping the belt to Rock at Royal Rumble. Hunter's sick of Roman's shit, especially after Roman turned his nose up at working with Randy Orton at Royal Rumble after once again played the "I won't put Cody Rhodes over/I'd rather work with Rock... if he feels like it" card.
(After refusing to work with Cody again, the plan was Roman would drop the belt to Randy, who would then fight Cody in a passing of the torch match)
Seth was taken off the table for Roman dropping the belt to him instead of Cody or Randy, by Hunter. That's the REAL reason Hunter ate shit and took Punk back BTW. Punk/Seth is happening at Mania, which meant that Roman couldn't hide behind Seth.
Adding to this, Hunter went behind Roman's back and talked to Rock to basically explain that if he and Roman are going to have their match, they need to do it before Mania because the new WWE owners want Cody to have the belt and since Roman's not wanting to play ball, TKO's wanting to know if Rock will play ball if they paid him handsomely to do so.
Rock agreed and basically Roman got checkmated. Rock sold Roman down the river, in part for the money but also because Rock has gotten tired of Roman namedropping him and making claims that he can get Rock to drop everything and fight him if he wanted to.
Roman's pissed as hell as he was told that he was definitely beating Hogan's record as champion. Heyman is also livid, but Hunter doesn't care or give a fuck. Rock's beating him at the Rumble and then dropping the belt to Cody, as is Seth dropping the Raw belt to Punk. Roman also won't be allowed to participate in the Elimination Chamber and that, if he does get a Mania match, it will be most likely a tag match with Solo against Sami and Kevin Owens.
