Does TNA still do those big Impact+ streaming exclusive events? They only do a handful of legit, on-cable PPVs a year, the use of PLE is probably just to avoid false advertising if not every show is an actual PPV.

the reason people think a partnership is being announced is because:
-tna using the wwe term ple
-tna saying worlds will collide which is a wwe show; nxt worlds collide
-triple h has a big announcement on thursday on peacock
-tna which has shows on thursdays doesnt have one
-tna partnered with endeavor last month to stream
-impact decided to rebrand to tna at the start of the year
-wwe probably wants tna's library

That would make sense, TNA selling/licensing their tape library to WWE in order to stay afloat. The only part I'm not convinced on is "Worlds will collide" being a WWE reference. Worlds Collide is a very common phrase and long predates WWE/NXT using that as a show name, and they haven't done a Worlds Collide show in like a year and a half.

It's probably a distinction cable providers are forcing them to make. If a show is only available to stream online and not cable, it's technically not an actual PPV. If they advertise doing a PPV, it implies I should be able to go on my cable box and order the show, otherwise, it's false advertising. WWE started using PLE originally because they stopped offering their shows on PPV providers and went Peacock exclusive. This is just other companies following suit and doing away with an outdated term.

no, it doesn't make sense at all. TNA's tape library is the only thing that makes them money. Anthem gets all their profit from TNA+ subscriptions. They make next to nothing on Impact TV rights or ticket sales.
